You are getting ready to release a new single, can you tell us more about the inspiration behind it?
My new single “Losing My Mind” was inspired by a past relationship. It was written in the East Writing Studio at Hutton Hotel in Nashville. The song focuses around the feeling of going crazy after someone leaves you.
You’ve been touring and working with some incredible singers and artists over your career, tell us about who has inspired you most.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to work and tour with some amazing people. Most recently, I toured with Betty Who and she motivated me to work even harder on songwriting. She has such a great stage presence and an incredible voice.
You travel a lot as a musician, tell us about a time that travel inspired a song.
Traveling always sparks some form of creativity. Some of my best ideas come from sleep deprived airplane flights or long nights in a van. Being in a new environment allows me to write from a different perspective.
You’re from NYC, but visit Nashville often. What do you love most about Nashville? What are some of your Nashville favorite restaurants and bars?
I consider Nashville my second home. I love the music community that has welcomed me here. The nightlife and food scenes are amazing too! I love Cafe Roze and I try to eat all the Edley‘s that I can!
Where do you like to listen to music when you are here?
I love seeing who is playing Analog at Hutton Hotel. It’s a great room to hear live music and grab a drink. I loved playing Exit / In when I toured Nashville, so seeing music there is a real treat.
Any favorite shops you like to visit?
Whenever I’m in Nashville I need to check out Grimey’s for new music. I love to hit up Frothy Monkey or Red Bicycle for their delicious coffee.
You’ve been doing some writing in Hutton Hotel’s Writers Studios, tell us a bit about that experience.
Hutton Hotel is my home away from home when I’m in Nashville. I’ve worked out of the East Writers Studio countless times. It’s an amazing place to write and create music. My new single “Losing My Mind” was written there. It’s perfectly designed to set a vibe that invites great art to be made!
What’s next for you?
My new single, “Losing My Mind” will be released on 8/10 and I’ll be continuing to drop new music throughout the rest of the year. I’ll be doing some pop up shows to preview the new songs. It’s gonna be a busy next few months!
